Musicology - periodisation in music and classification of music genres; on a lesser level a general interest in

Synaesthesia and the influence of colour and interpretation of colour in, and through music.

It was during the early years of her development of piano skills that an introduction began for Jo-Anne, to the inspiring music of the Australian composer, performer and pedagogue Miriam Hyde.

Relocating to Tasmania in 2016 also became the catalyst for Jo-Anne undertaking to gain a deeper understanding into the compositional influences behind the solo piano music of Miriam Hyde, enabling Jo-Anne to present lecture recitals at the Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference; have papers published as part of the conference proceedings and in the British Music Society Journal, including respective Music Teacher Association Journals of South Australia and New South Wales.
