Jo-Annes’ current educational role is as the Director of Music at St Virgils’ College in Hobart, Tasmania.
Adjudication engagements have included the Innisfail Young Performers Competition, Mt. Isa Juvenile Eisteddfod, Burdekin Juvenile Eisteddfod. An invitation to Cairns & District Eisteddfod was disappointingly not undertaken due to COVID-19.

Remaining in Brisbane after completing initial undergraduate studies (from 1992 – 2001) Jo-Anne continued to build her career as a piano accompanist, not only for AMEB instrumental exams, but also involvement with the Queensland branch of the Australian National Youth Choir and Musical Director for the APIA Theatre Groups productions of Sugar and The Greatest American Backstage Musical. A return to Cairns in 2001 enabled more choral and Musical Director involvement with the Cairns Choral Society for Jo-Anne as pianist and Musical Director for various productions.
A relocation to Hobart, Tasmania in 2016, presented even more musical opportunities and experiences for Jo-Anne:
- Pianist for Festival of Voices/Tasmania Sings
- Pianist and conductor of the Tasmanian Chorale
- Director of Music at St David’s Cathedral
- Deputy Director of Music at St Mary’s Cathedral
- Accompanist for Conservatorium of Music instrumental exams
- A member of the Derwent Symphony Orchestra
